We usually respond within a week
We’re on a mission to accelerate the energy transition with sustainable home energy for all, and our goal is to help 3 million households transition by 2030. That’s why we’re seeking a highly motivated and ambitious engineer who can bridge product quality, operational reliability, and field issue resolution.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering excellence and quality assurance — ensuring that every product we put into the field performs reliably and meets our high standards. You will play a critical role in investigating and resolving real-world product issues, improving release quality, and building the systems and processes that keep our products performing at their best.
🌱 What you'll be doing:
- Lead field reliability investigations across hardware, firmware, and software, coordinating with multiple teams to find root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Own software deployment to the fleet. This includes a beta and production release phases. Orchestrating software roll-outs to the beta test group, next staged roll-outs to the production fleet. Monitoring fleet functionality, performance and error indicators.
- Monitor and improve system performance across the product fleet, increasing uptime, reducing failure rates, and proactively addressing emerging risks.
- Develop and maintain automated monitoring systems, quality dashboards, and performance metrics that give full visibility into live product health.
- Manage operational responses to product incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimised customer impact.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to embed lessons learned from field issues into product design, manufacturing, and release processes.
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated checks, and other infrastructure that supports quality and reliability.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and comprehensive documentation for troubleshooting, product handover, and operational best practices.
💡 What you'll need?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, quality engineering, DevOps/SRE, or a related discipline.
- Proven track record in field issue resolution and cross-team root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming (e.g., Python, C++).
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging systems for live products.
- Strong understanding of both software and hardware reliability principles.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation for quality/release processes.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, scaling environment and juggle multiple priorities.
