As our Senior Financial Controller you’ll play a central role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of our business. You’ll have the opportunity to shape and grow the Financial Control team from its foundation, while taking ownership of a clear scope of accountability. In this role you’ll report to the CFO and work closely with our Finance Operations team. 

🌱 Your impact:

• Maintain and enforce internal finance policies, ensuring they remain fit for purpose and aligned with the company’s goals.

• Prepare accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for individual legal entities and consolidated reporting under Dutch GAAP.

• Lead the annual audit process, acting as the main contact for auditors and managing all internal activities through to final approval and filing.

• Collaborate with Finance Operations to optimize the Chart of Accounts, ERP setup, and month-end/year-end close processes.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function, implementing controls and automations to reduce errors and increase efficiency.

• Mentor and upskill junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and top-quartile financial control.

💡 What you'll need?

• A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting & Control plus a specialized certification such as RA, ACCA or RC. 

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, audit experience is a plus.

• Excellent understanding of Dutch GAAP and preferably IFRS, supported by deep accounting knowledge.

• Proven ability to prepare financial statements at both per-entity and consolidated levels.

• Strong analytical skills with a sharp eye for detail, able to distinguish between material and non-material issues.

• A results-oriented mindset: gets things done, first time right, and on time, knowing when to seek guidance.

• You have excellent communication skills in English and are able to collaborate with all departments and all levels throughout the organization. 

• Courage to challenge the status quo and ask “why,” while constructively providing honest feedback to senior leadership.
