Mechanical Engineer
We usually respond within a week
We’re on a mission to accelerate the energy transition with sustainable home energy for all and it’s our goal to help 3 million households transition by 2030. That is why we’re seeking a highly motivated and ambitious person that’s not afraid to make their hands dirty and make a real dent in the climate change challenge that we are already facing. Are you ready to rise to the challenge?
As a Mechanical Engineer, you won't just design products — you'll be crafting the future of home heating solutions. From heat pumps to cutting-edge cooling devices, you'll be at the forefront of developing a full ecosystem of sustainable energy solutions. If you're driven by the challenge of combating climate change and thrive in a hands-on, innovative environment, this role is for you.
🌱 What you'll be doing:
Mechanical engineering:
Design and develop mechanical systems and components using CAD software, structuring models for simulation, analysis, and collaborative, multi-engineer workflows
Translate conceptual designs into detailed, production-ready components, taking manufacturing methods (e.g. molding, machining, welding) and serviceability into account from the outset
Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles, and use GD&T on drawings and 3D models to ensure design intent is clearly communicated
Investigate design and production issues using structured root cause analysis (e.g. 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams) and implement corrective and preventive actions
Develop and execute test plans, and lead the prototyping, testing, and analysis of mechanical systems
Support the manufacturing process by providing technical assistance and troubleshooting issues
Industrial design:
Shape the aesthetics, form language, and ergonomics of components and products, balancing user-centered design with mechanical feasibility and cost
Define and specify colors, materials, and finishes (CMF) that align with Quatt’s brand identity, durability requirements, and manufacturing constraints
Build and evaluate appearance models and prototypes with users and stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine form, usability, and perceived quality
Across both:
Prepare clear engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation that support repeatability and knowledge transfer across the team
Collaborate closely with senior engineers, designers, and installers, adapting your communication style to different audiences
Conduct research to support engineering and design projects and stay up to date with industry trends
Ensure all engineering and design activities comply with company standards, industry regulations, and safety guidelines
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team
💡 What you'll need?
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, or a related field
3-5 years of relevant working experience, with demonstrated exposure to both mechanical design and industrial/product design
Strong proficiency in CAD software such as Fusion 360, or similar tools
A solid, working understanding of production processes — sheet metal design, plastic injection molding, and/or piping and couplings — and how to design for manufacturability, assembly, and service
Working knowledge of structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methods, and an understanding of quality processes such as dimensional inspection and fit-and-finish requirements
A good eye for aesthetics, form, and human-centered design, with hands-on experience in (or a strong affinity for) CMF selection and specification
Comfortable sketching or visualizing concepts and building appearance prototypes to test with users.
Strong collaboration and communication skills — comfortable working with senior engineers, designers, and installers
Ability to produce clear, comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications and test plans
A problem-solving attitude and a hunger to learn
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and fluent in English
